October Meeting - Circle of Circles
When
06 Oct 2011
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Location
Mount Laurel Fire Hall, 69 Elbo Lane, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054
"Circle of Circles" will be the project of our general meeting on Thursday, October 6th, 2011. This is a beginner level stringing / seed bead necklace project that everyone can enjoy making. The supply list is provided so that you can bring your own, or if you prefer, Artful Beads (
http://www.artfulbeadstudio.com
) will be hosting a trunk show where you can browse for supplies you wish to purchase. We will have instructions ready to handout and will have multiple stations set up in the meeting room where beginners can get hands-on assistance with creating this piece.
Circle of Circles Necklace
SUPPLY LIST FOR CIRCLE OF CIRCLES NECKLACE
BEADS
A tube of size 6 or 8 seed beads (for the necklace base)
A tube of size 11 seed beads (for the circles)
Assorted Accent Beads such as 4-8 mm Czech Firepolish, drops, top drilled leaves, flowers, shell beads, etc.
STRINGING MATERIALS
This pattern is very adaptable so bring what you are most comfortable working with. Bring any of the following:
Nylon beading thread and size 10 beading needles, or the size that works best for you.
Fireline, WildFire, or other knotable beading cord that can string beads without using a needle.
Flexible beading wire and crimps. Thinner beading wire, such as .012”, will give the nicest drape to the circles. Thicker beading wire (.018” - .024”) would be good for the base.
CLASP OPTIONS
Lobster claw & jump rings, toggle, magnetic, 8mm or larger bead, or a button.
TOOLS
Scotch Tape or bead stoppers,
a beading mat,
tape measure,
scissors or wire cutters, and
a crimp tool
Any other supplies you usually use such as wax for thread, magnifiers, work light and extension cords (although the meeting room is well lit) are welcome as well.
We are looking forward to seeing you and your magnificent creations.
