About Bead Binge
For the past several years, the SJBS has been pleased to present Bead Binge, a celebration of beads for bead enthusiasts of all skill levels. Last year's chairperson, Eleanor Fink, was dedicated to making the show bigger and better than ever! But the real work was done by the members who volunteered many, many hours before and during the show to ensure its success.

A Note from our 2011 Chair
What a great couple of days at Bead Binge 2011! Bead Binge had terrific shopping opportunities! All the bling we could imagine and more! Over 800 shoppers supported the 32 vendors that came out to provide the SJBS the chance to shop locally.
SJBS volunteers supported our mission by working reception and society tables and supporting vendors with breaks and lunch and treats. We raised $296 for Beads of Courage! Shoppers had plenty of silver, glass, crystal, semiprecious, pearl, metal, seed and handmade beads and creations to peruse, to appreciate and to purchase. Two new folks joined the SJBS.
Overall the Bead Binge 2011 enhanced our treasury to continue the SJBS mission for education and furtherment of beads and beading. A rousing thank you to all who volunteered and shopped.

Bead Binge Challenge (SJBS Members Only)
Each year the show boasts a jewelry design contest for current SJBS members. Find inspiration in a painting, a wall hanging, a curtain, a photograph-whatever you find on a wall that intrigues you. Then, make a beaded piece using your Off the Wall inspiration. Each entry must contain beads and relate to the theme, Off the Wall.
Submission should include a picture of the inspiration. The item can be wearable or non-wearable. Size maximum is 12 inches by 12 inches by 12 inches. Only one entry per member. Start planning your entry today! Deadline for entries is March 1st, 2012. More information to follow.
