Cancer Survivors Day - Volunteers Needed

Cooper University Hospital is celebrating Cancer Survivors Day on June 7 at its Cancer Institute in Voorhees.

The South Jersey Bead Society is participating in this fun-filled day by offering 2 beginner-level make-it-and-take-it projects. (More to come on this).

We need volunteers – that’s you! - to make this happen. Supplies will be provided. We just need your smiling face.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at the Cooper Cancer Institute, 900 Centennial Blvd. -- at the corner of Centennial and Kresson. It’s a big building. Can’t miss it.

About 400 cancer survivors and their families are expected to attend and enjoy the many fun activities, including jewelry making (Bead Society), chair massage, reflexology, reiki, yoga and a Chinese auction.

If you are able to volunteer, even for just one hour, please contact Bev Alston at silverlady36@comcast.net or Lissa Atkins at lda33@msn.com if you are interested in volunteering.

Please notify us of your interest by May 15.

Many of us have been touched by cancer, including one of your co-presidents, Lissa Atkins. Lissa is in her fourth year of recovery after surgery for uterine cancer and the Cooper Cancer Institute with Dr. David Warshal provides her care.
