We are excited to have a special guest at our March 7th monthly meeting. Patti Parker of Rose Blu Beads is hosting a Trunk Show along with a Bead Education Star Flower pattern for our SJBS members.

Patricia Parker stands as a true master in the world of bead weaving, evident in her colors, textures, and intricate designs. Also an accomplished author, she has shared her knowledge with the world. Her books serve as guides and inspiration for both aspiring and accomplished bead artists.

Bead Education Project: Star Flower

Patti will guide us through the process of crafting a  beautiful beaded star-shaped flower.

Whether you're a seasoned bead artist or just  starting, this step-by-step guide will help you create a  lifelike floral masterpiece.

The flower is stitched using peyote and the stem is  herringbone stitch. This blossom is from Ms. Parker’s  book From the Flowering Fields and is the starting  idea for many of the other flowers.

Supply List:

  • Size 11 round seed beads in four colors for petals and the center.

  • About 1 gram of beads in each of the three petal colors and five beads for the center circle of the flower.

  • One size 8 round seed bead for the reverse.

  • Optional stems: you will need (6 beads) size 8 and one gram size 11 round seed beads in green.
  • One G thread or Fireline, beading needle and a mat.
The patterns for flowers and stems are available on our SJBS Bead Educational Projects webpage.

Trunk Show items will be discounted at 15%. There will be a variety of beads and patterns for sale. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

NOTE: Members are not required to make the bead education project, and are welcome to work on a project of their own.
