Using bead embroidery on Lacy's Stiff Stuff premium bead embroidery
foundation, donated to SJBS for this meeting, you will have the
opportunity to make your own unique name badge to show off at
meetings and classes!
Bring a name cabochon of your choice and learn ways to embellish it using bead embroidery techniques.
Need a name tag? Custom ceramic ones (bead embroidered examples shown above) can be ordered from SJBS vendor
member Kristina Chadwick. Email her and she will send color options -- or see them in-person at the Sept. 4 meeting.
Cost is $16 (including sales tax). Tags will be delivered at
the October meeting, or shipped in advance for a $5 fee.
Deadline to order is Sept. 12.
BYOB (bring your own beads) Supply List:
- Name cabochon
- Approx. 4 x 5 inch piece of stiff foundation felt (samples will be donated by Lacy's Stiff Stuff)
- Backing material (ultra suede, cork fabric or faux leather)
- White glue
- Size 11/0 Delicas to bezel the name tag
- Assorted sizes and shapes of beads, pearls, gems, 11/0, 8/0 beads to embellish as desired
- Piece of poster board, recycled plastic or cardboard for inner strength
- Pin back if not making a necklace bail
- Fireline 6 lb. or thread of choice
- Sz 11 or 12 beading needle
- Scissors
